Have you thought about how and why you may be separated
from God? And how you can again be in his favor? Or maybe you are searching for God the very first time in your life.
The scripture readings this week has the apostle Paul and
John explaining the way we in our sinful nature can have 'a relationship' with
the perfect sinless God. The important
key is concerning Jesus Christ being our advocate, our mediator, our go-between
us, and God the Father.
1 Timothy 2:3-6,
"This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of
God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge
of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the
testimony given at the proper time."
And,
1 John 2:1-2,
"My little children, I am writing these things to you so
that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and
not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world."
