The topic of re-baptism into Christ is one that should be faced and addressed by individuals who realize their original baptism may be in question as a result of fuller understanding of God’s Word (Acts 18:26). And hopefully because one is willing to have a new look at their baptism to confirm their standing before God is right and true. For to eliminate any possibility of disobedience and ultimately God’s judgment where He says – Away from Me , I never knew you” (Matt. 7:21-23), ought to be the desire of every pilgrim.
There is no
doubt that baptism in water for the remission of sins is a command from Jesus (Mark 16:16) and His
Apostles (Acts 2:38 Acts 22:16). You may be concerned your baptism was not properly done or
based upon the right reasons raising. “Was I taught my sins were
forgiven prior to my baptism and that the act was just an outward expression
of an inward faith?” The bible says there is one Lord, one faith and one
baptism (Eph. 4:5). How can so many churches be wrong teaching
that baptism has no effect of cleansing sins? “Is my baptism the right
"one" and if not, should I be re-baptized?”
If you are genuinely curious
and want to know the truth, this post and its contents will be helpful in understanding
scriptural baptism taught by Jesus Christ, and His Apostles. If you are a new seeker of God and His will for you, there is much
to learn and pray about for you here as well. If you are a skeptic that baptism
isn't for the remission of sins, our prayer is that God will call you to one day
yield and let Him speak to you through all of His Word (Matt. 4:4) about baptism without
the influence of others that preach and teach a man-made doctrine of salvation
by faith only. You are not alone with everyone else who realizes to go to
heaven, we must "enter through the
narrow gate and by the difficult path" (Matt. 7:13,14).
Whichever case you are in,
please don't allow peer pressure or your pride, selective knowledge and ego to get in the
way of God on this very important subject. To be re-baptized will no doubt
cause separation if you are fellowshiping with people who believe otherwise,
and with family and friends, and close folks you have maintained a tradition with for years. This can be a very stressful period of time but God
will be with your humbled heart and mind, and that is all that really matters. Your new found knowledge will be a good work in the Lord that will allow God to cause others
to go back to the bible and diligently seek the truth
again. There is nothing wrong with having a fresh look at our walk with Jesus,
in fact He commands it! (Phil. 2:12)
All true seekers and
worshipers of God are humble in heart and willing to reason together from the
bible out of love for our Lord Jesus as He will have it no other way... He will
not forsake you when you are diligently and honestly seeking His will.

The subject of re-baptism comes up often and is a very important one. Is it Scriptural? There are many forms and reasons for baptism devised by man that no wonder later in life when one is questioning their faith, re-baptism becomes a legitimate question. This short lesson will help the bible student toward a biblical baptism that God will honor.

What does the Bible say about getting baptized by immersion in water again? If I fell away from God and am now rededicating my life to Him, is it necessary to show God through another baptism that my revitalization is true? Is my doubt about being saved related to the kind and purpose my previous baptism was administered to me? I just want to make sure. This lesson will help you know if what you did in the past is still valid today and if getting to heaven is at risk in your walk.

Baptism into Christ occurs only once between the sinner and God. There are many reasons and modes of baptism taught by men that millions of people have undertaken that fall on the deaf ears of God. One could say, these other forms of baptism aren't really authentic baptisms at all. They occur without the authority of Jesus Christ as this lesson will point out. Anybody can believe in Christ, but few actually obey Christ with an authorized baptism.
